Frequently Asked Questions
-
Gracie Jiu Jitsu is a self defense system developed by the Gracie family that emphasizes leverage, timing, and technique over strength or size. It teaches practical skills that allow a smaller person to defend themselves against a larger, stronger opponent while building confidence, discipline, and problem-solving skills.
-
Rhalan Gracie is a member of the Gracie family and the son of Grandmaster Relson Gracie, who learned directly from his father, Grandmaster Hélio Gracie, one of the founders of Gracie Jiu-Jitsu.
Every class at our academy is personally taught by Rhalan, giving students direct instruction rooted in the original principles, philosophy, and techniques that have been passed down through generations of the Gracie family. It's a rare opportunity to learn Gracie Jiu-Jitsu directly from its lineage in a welcoming, family-owned academy.
